Emomali Rahmon and Sooronbay Jeenbekov Had Talks by Phone
DUSHANBE, 11.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
The heads of states had an in-depth exchange about the full range of Tajik-Kyrgyz relations, including the current status of the border region’s situation, and the importance of continuing the Tajik-Kyrgyz interstate dialogue to further advance the process of negotiations on border issues.
The counterparts reaffirmed their intention to intensify meetings and working groups in order to prevent the escalation of tensions in the border areas.
Following the conversation, the parties gave specific instructions to the relevant ministries and agencies regarding the adoption of necessary measures in this direction.
