Tajik Representatives Attend 2020 Sheep Show Convention
DUSHANBE, 20.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The 2020 Sheep Show Convention was held from January 16 through January 18 in Reno, Nevada. The Ambassador of Tajikistan to the US Farhod Salim attended the event at the invitation of the Wild Sheep Foundation.
As part of the event, the Chairman of the Committee for the Environmental Protection under the government of Tajikistan Davlatsho Gulmahmadzoda received the International Conservation Statesman Award for his professional achievements in the protection of wild sheep in Tajikistan, while Salim received the International Wildlife Conservation Ambassador Award for the recognition of his diplomatic achievements in the development of relations for the protection of wild sheep in Tajikistan.
While receiving the awards, Salim noted that in Tajikistan, at the initiative of President Emomali Rahmon the years 2019-2021 have been declared as the Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts and further cooperation will facilitate the implementation of this initiative.
