Meeting of the Government of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 27.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presided over a regular session of the government of Tajikistan.
The meeting focused on implementing the presidential decree dated May 22, 2018 “On 30 Anniversary of State Independence.” The Chairman of Khatlon Province Kurbon Hakimzoda presented a report on the matter related to the expansion of the socio-economic infrastructure in Khatlon.
“The construction and renovation of more than 7,500 facilities of various purposes are planned in Katlon. To date, the construction and renovation of 3,901 facilities has already been completed, which is 52 percent of the plan. The construction of 3210 or 82% has reportedly been financed by local entrepreneurs. During 2018-2019 and the first quarter of 2020, 4,742 permanent and 11,161 seasonal jobs were created as a result,” noted Hakimzoda.
He also added that out of the total number of facilities whose construction and renovation are planned to be completed before the 30th anniversary of independence, 603 facilities are for education, 941 for healthcare, 210 for culture, and 590 are for sports and recreation.
Government members also discussed the bills which have been submitted to the Assembly of Representatives for consideration, including the draft laws “On Amendments and Additions to the Criminal Code,» «On the Code of Administrative Offenses,» “On Banking Activity,” “On the National Bank of Tajikistan,” and «On Payment Services and Payment Systems.»
In addition, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda reported on the National Communication Program for the First 1000 Days of a Child’s Life for 2020-2024, and the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Zarobiddin Faizullozoda reported on the accelerated industrialization for 2020-2025.
Other issues included the threat of COVID-19, state of readiness for the fall-winter season of 2020-2021, efficient use of household lands and farms, loss-free harvesting of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural crops and landscaping.
The head of state ordered the Republican Commission for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19 to take additional steps to intensify anti-epidemic measures and improve the quality of health services, providing medical facilities with medicines and medical equipment as well as supporting health care workers.
