President Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev Have a Telephone Conversation
DUSHANBE, 05.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – The Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
President Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajik people are closely following the developments around the events in the Syr Darya region of Uzbekistan, which witnessed a break in the Sardoba reservoir and that in these difficult times, the thoughts and prayers of Tajik people are with the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.
The couterparts also discussed the current epidemiological situation in the region and the world and the developments due to the spread of COVID-19 in both countries. They both reaffirmed their mutual readiness to take joint action to overcome the current crises.
The current agenda of Tajik-Uzbek relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields was also touched upon. Both leaders agreed to take urgent action toward enhancing the strategic partnership for the benefit of the two nations.
In closing President Emomali Rahmon wished President Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan robust health and prosperity.
