President Emomali Rahmon Meets WB Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde
DUSHANBE, 10.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting, via videoconference, with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde.
The parties discussed current issues of further development of Tajikistan – WB cooperation with a focus on COVID-19 pandemic and measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus infection in Tajikistan.
While expressing his satisfaction over the level of Tajik – WB cooperation, President Rahmon noted that from the beginning of the registration of cases of infection of this disease in Tajikistan, WB has provided financial assistance to prevent the spread of this disease.
The discussion also touched on the ways to reduce the negative impact of this disease on the socio-economic situation in Tajikistan.
It was noted that the government had taken prompt and effective measures, established the Republican Commission for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19 and prepared hospitals.
The patient-centered care and the provision of hospitals with medicines and other necessary medical equipment are under the direct control of President Rahmon.
Other current matters related to mutually beneficial cooperation were also discussed.
