President Emomali Rahmon Opens a Number of Facilities in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 10.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening of a new overpass in metropolitan area of Sino. He was accompanied by Chairman of National Assembly and Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.
The overpass was built within the framework of the Dushanbe -Tursunzoda — Uzbekistan border road rehabilitation project (road section from the monument of Avicena to the Western Gate of Dushanbe).
The eight-lane road, which links Sino Avenue to the Western Gate of Dushanbe, is nearly five kilometers in length, and 68 meters in width.
The construction also included the modernization of the underground engineering system, communication lines, gas, modern lighting, trolleybus route, and landscaping of alleys and sidewalks.
The project was financed by the government of Tajikistan, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The customer of the project is the Ministry of Transport, the Center for Implementation of Road Reconstruction Project and its contractor is the Chinese Xinjiang Communication Construction Group. The quality control of the project was provided by the Spanish Eptisa Group.
During the inspection of the quality of the construction work, President Rahmon praised the construction work carried out in accordance with international standards.
Following opening of the Security State Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, President Rahmon and Chairman Emomali visited the Chorteppa neighborhood and attended the opening of the first line of the Tajtex sewing factory, which produces various types of clothing.
The factory was financed by local businesswoman Aziza Kosimi for the development of the domestic textile industry.
Tojtex has the ability to produce up to 20,000 units of various clothes per day. The company has launched the production of more than 50 types of products.
Following the inspection, President Rahmon praised the creative initiatives of local entrepreneurs.
Later in the day, President Rahmon and Chairman Emomali laid a foundation stone for the construction of the Istiklol Square with the architectural complex symbolizing independence and freedom. It is expected to be completed in 2021 in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence.
The total area of Istiklol Square is 30 hectares and the height of the symbol of independence is 121 meters tall.
