Elections Commission Registered the Proxies of Presidential Candidates

DUSHANBE, 15.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, he Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda held a meeting.
The focus was on issues relating to the organization of the presidential election scheduled for October 11, the registration of the proxies of presidential candidates and specifying the composition of district commissions.
In accordance with Article 24 of the Constitutional Law On the Presidential Elections, the CCER received the relevant information on the nomination of a candidate from the Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
In accordance with Article 28 of the Constitutional Law, the Commission registered the proxies of candidates for the presidential post Rustam Latifzoda, Abduhalim Ghafforzoda, Emomali Rahmon, Miroj Abdulloev and Rustam Rahmatzoda on the basis of the list presented by them.
In accordance with Article 25 of the Constitutional Law On the Presidential Elections, the relevant documents were submitted to the Commission by the Democratic Party of Tajikistan for consideration and registration of candidate.
The CCER considered the documents submitted by the candidate and refused to register the candidate for the presidential post Saidjafar Usmonzoda, nominated by the Democratic Party of Tajikistan, due to the non-compliance of the documents with the requirements of part 3 of Article 65 of the Constitution and part 4 of Article 24 of the Constitutional Law.
Registered proxies assist candidates during the election campaign and protect their interests in relations with state and public bodies and election commissions.
The Commission made a decision on the last issue.
