Khorugh’s District Election Commission No. 18 Thoroughly Prepares for the Presidential Election

DUSHANBE, 15.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The members of the district election commission No. 18 of Khorugh visited 14 polling stations and talked with the chairmen and their members regarding presidential election.
“Our district began to function from the moment of signing the Decree of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda On the establishment of district commissions for the presidential election, and the work plan and duty schedule have already been approved,” said the secretary of the district commission Anvar Akramov.
The electoral district building and all related polling stations are equipped in accordance with the requirements and provided with the necessary communication materials and equipment. The audit showed that 14 polling stations are fully equipped with rooms and ballot boxes, the necessary conditions have been created for medical services, mothers with kids, people with disabilities, regional and international observers.
Akramov noted that a campaign for voter registration had begun, and posters would be displayed at polling stations 15 days before the elections.
“For the active participation of voters and obtaining additional information about the elections, slogans and posters were installed on the streets and squares of the city, as well as inside and outside the buildings of precinct election commissions and polling stations,” he added.
According to him, there is also a daily exchange of views between election commissioners and young voters on the basic principles of elections and voting.
Akramov expresses confidence that the upcoming elections will become an important factor in uniting Tajiks, strengthening national unity, peace and stability in the country.
