DUSHANBE, 03.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended the​ military parade marking the​ 25th anniversary of Tajikistan’s National Guard.

“From the first days of its establishment to the present day, despite the fact that in those days the economic situation of our newly independent country and the financial capacity of the government were extremely limited, this military structure has passed a glorious path of formation, improvement and development” noted President Rahmon.

He also emphasized that today, the National Guard, which we are formed as a symbol of national statehood, taking into account the historical symbols of our ancestors in an empty space, has become an organized and orderly structure and proudly fulfills the honorable and responsible tasks of protecting the interests of the Motherland.

Today, the structure of the National Guard has been brought in line with modern requirements, and it has become a modern military structure of special purpose, which is one of the most important factors in protecting independence and freedom, territorial integrity and national security.

“The service members of the Guards side by side with other military structures of the country have made a valuable contribution to the restoration of the constitutional order, ensuring peace and stability,” added Rahmon.

“The faithful service and courage of officers and soldiers of the National Guard has always been appreciated by the leadership of the state and the government, and to date, 300 officers and soldiers have received state awards and 13 people have been awarded higher military titles,» he said.

In addition to their training in the National Guard Training center, hundreds of others cadets has been studying at military academies in developed countries, many of whom are now serving as highly qualified officers in units of the National Guard.

He also pointed out that the government has mobilized all resources and capabilities in order to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities, increase the level of professionalism and military training of servicemen of the Armed Forces, including the National Guard and law enforcement agencies.

«I believe in the patriotism and courage of the servicemen of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of independent Tajikistan, including the personnel of the National Guard, and I declare with full confidence that they will continue to fulfill their proud mission and their filial duty before Motherland and the Tajik nation,» said President Rahmon, concluding his speech.
