DUSHANBE, 30.09.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has met with the leaders and representatives of Shahrinav district.

The meeting focused on the socio-economic and industrial development, increasing the volume of agricultural production, health care, education, and preparations for celebration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of independence of the country.

In his address, President Rahmon noted that in accordance with the approved plan for the decent celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence, 413 facilities must be built in Shahrinav, while to date 252 facilities have been put into operation.

Since independence, more than 520 million somoni has been allocated from the national budget toward the development of various sectors of Shahrinav district.

To date, 18 public investment projects worth more than 567 million somoni have been implemented in the district. Eight other projects costing a total of 40 million somoni are under implementation.

In the first seven months of 2020, 15 industrial enterprises have manufactured products amounting to 17 million somoni in total, which is 800,000 somoni less compared to the same period of last year.

More than 280 million somoni has been channeled for the reconstruction of 12 km long Shahrinav road connecting Dushanbe to the border of Uzbekistan.  Repair and reconstruction of 31 kilometer-long roads is ongoing.

Before his meeting with leadership and representatives of Shahrinav district, President Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Hoji Ahmad Agro-Industrial Complex, which features a number of facilities, including Tajik-Uzbek-Russian joint venture — Marva-Mebel, a sewing workshop, a hotel, vine-growing orchards, a greenhouse, and a fish pond.

There he also attended the unveiling ceremony of the National Flag square with a 55-meter flagpole, secondary educational institution No. 18, Nazokat private preschool in the Hayoti Nav community, Muhammadjon Diagnostic and Medical Clinic, an indoor sports field, the administrative building of the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, and a cultural and recreational park.Emomali Rahmon also gave start to grapes collection campaign in Kishovarz farm.
