Presidential Elections Declared Valid with Current Over 70% Voter Turnout
DUSHANBE, 11.10.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The presidential election has been declared valid as the 3.495 million people so far have cast their ballots across the country.
«As of 15:00 local time, the voter turnout was 70.71%» said the Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda.
The election is considered valid if more than 50% registered voters take part in it.
“Over 70% of the electorate has voted. The political and legal culture of the Tajik people is very high, and they participate in such political campaigns with a high sense of civic responsibility,» he added.
Polling stations will close at 20:00 local time.
