Tajik and Korean Foreign Ministries Sign Cooperation Program for 2021-2023

DUSHANBE, 26.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – On Wednesday, while on his official visit to Seoul, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea Kang Kyung-wha.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and South Korea in various fields.
They also discussed the issues of expanding and strengthening the legal base of bilateral relations.
The ministers reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during high-level visits, the signing of new bilateral documents, coordination of joint activities in various formats, including within the framework of the meetings of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and political consultations between the Tajik and Korean Foreign Ministries.
In this regard, the parties stressed the importance of expanding trade, economic, investment, as well as scientific and technical ties between the two countries, expanding inter-parliamentary ties, cooperation in the field of industry, energy, culture, tourism and labor migration.
The meeting also focused on other issues relating to the expansion of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and South Korea within the framework of international and regional organizations and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the meeting, the Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and South Korea for 2021-2023 was signed.
