Tajikistan and the EU Hold the Twelfth Round of the Human Rights Dialogue

DUSHANBE, 12.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The 12th round of the Human Rights Dialogue between Tajikistan and the European Union took place yesterday in an online format.
The Tajik delegation was led by the head of the Department for Human Rights Guarantees of the Presidential Executive Office Abdujabbor Sattorzoda, and the EU delegation was represented by the head of the Central Asia Division of the European External Action Service Boris Iarochevitch.
The event was also attended by the head of EU Delegation to Tajikistan Ambassador Marilyn Josefsson, the French Ambassador to Tajikistan Michel Tarran and the German Ambassador to Tajikistan Andreas Protmann.
The meeting agenda included issues relating to the developments in human rights in Tajikistan and in the EU since the last dialogue, freedom of expression, freedom of the media, freedom of association and political participation, peaceful assembly and freedom of religion or belief, women’s rights, including violence against women, torture, ill-treatment and conditions of detention, cooperation within multilateral formats, Generalized System of Preferences (GSP+), as well as other joint bilateral projects.
