CIS Ministries of Foreign Affairs Discuss Cooperation Within UNESCO

DUSHANBE, 25.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajikistan chaired the consultations between the CIS Ministries of Foreign Affairs dedicated to the cooperetion of CIS members within the framework of UNESCO. The consultations were held via videoconference.
The parties discussed aspects of activities and promising areas of cooperation between CIS members within the framework of UNESCO, and exchanged experience on the implementation of the SDG4 during the pandemic.
In addition, participants exchanged views on cooperation opportunities within the framework of the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, and the implementation of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The parties agreed to intensify interaction in order to strengthen relations between the CIS National Commissions for UNESCO, and also discussed the prospects for establishing cooperation between the CIS and UNESCO.
