The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
During the conversation, the counterparts exchanged warm holiday greetings.
President Rahmon noted that despite this year’s challenges, the parties were able to implement most of the previously reached agreements.
Regular meetings of the Tajik-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation have facilitated this process.
The Tajik-Uzbek joint venture Artel Avesto Electronics and secondary educational institution, with was financed by the Uzbek government in the Spitamen district of Tajikistan were also mentioned.
While emphasizing the close cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 infections, President Rahmon noted that the humanitarian aid delivered by Uzbekistan serves as the highest form of manifestation of the traditions of good-neighborliness and mutual assistance, which are historically present between the two peoples.
Concluding the conversation, the officials reaffirmed their mutual intention to further strengthen bilateral long-term and multilateral relations of strategic partnership.
