FM Muhriddin Holds Online Meeting With WMO Secretary-General

DUSHANBE, 15.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held an online meeting with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Petteri Taalas.
Taalas presented detailed information about the Water and Climate Coalition for Sustainable Development Goal 6.
The objective of the coalition is to build momentum on water action through implementing concrete activities at the national, regional and global levels.
Muhriddin highlighted the government’s efforts and initiatives in the field of water and climate change.
The importance of discussing the consequences of climate change and the need to protect glaciers, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation in the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process was also noted.
