Huseinzoda Attends Central Asia, China and Afghanistan’s Deputy FMs Meeting

DUSHANBE, 10.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – On Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Huseinzoda attended the videoconference meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asia, China and Afghanistan.
The parties exchanged views on cooperation in combating the pandemic, trade and economic cooperation, transport and security.
In his speech, Huseinzoda noted that interaction among Central Asia, China and Afghanistan is of particular importance and plays an important role in the development and strengthening of contacts and cooperation between the region’s countries.
While referring to the rapidly changing world situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Huseinzoda called on his counterparts to take effective joint measures to restore sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
The pandemic has given rise to serious challenges and problems. In this regard, the Tajik Deputy FM called on the participating countries to unite in the fight against the consequences of the pandemic by using all existing resources and opportunities.
While considering the importance of developing trade and economic cooperation, Huseinzoda emphasized the importance of promoting projects in the field of energy, transport, industry and agriculture, and called for an increase in the export potential and uninterrupted transportation of goods.
He noted that cooperation in the field of security is of great importance for the peace and stability of Afghanistan.
The parties agreed to contribute to the maintenance of peace, stability and prosperity in the region on the basis of good neighborliness by strengthening cooperation in trade and communications.
