DUSHANBE, 29.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The counterparts warmly exchanged 2021 New Year greetings. President Rahmon wished the friendly people of Russia prosperity and progress.

He summed up the development of the Tajik – Russian relations in the outgoing year, and noted that despite difficulties concerns and the Covid-19 pandemic, Tajikistan and Russia were able to successfully hold a number of important political events, including the nationwide referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation and parliamentary and presidential elections in Tajikistan.

The importance of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which symbolize the solidarity of the people of the two countries, was also noted.

They also exchanged views on bilateral relations and within regional and international agendas. The two sides discussed pressing issues of cooperation between the two countries as well as ensuring regional security.

Concluding the conversation, President Emomali Rahmon expressed his confidence that the joint efforts of the parties will also be effective in the new 2021.
