Tajikistan and Germany Hold Political Consultations

DUSHANBE, 09.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajikistan and Germany held a new round of political consultations via videoconference.
The delegations were headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Huseinzoda and the Director of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany for cooperation with Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Michael Siebert.
The consultations focused on a wide range of issues relating to the development of bilateral relations in the political, economic, social, scientific, cultural spheres, and in the field of tourism and security, as well as fruitful cooperation between the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations.
The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, health care, migration, as well as in fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigating the effects of climate change.
The parties also exchanged views on deepening inter-parliamentary ties, expanding the legal framework, strengthening cooperation within the framework of the EU’s new Central Asian Strategy and the regional initiative Green Central Asia.
