Tajikistan and Japan Hold Ministerial Political Consultations

DUSHANBE, 12.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajikistan and Japan held the third round of Ministerial political consultations via video conference.
The delegations were led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Khusrav Noziri and the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia Tokuda Shuichi.
The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan, as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The parties noted the importance of the implementation of Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) projects in Tajikistan, stressed the need for regional cooperation within the framework of Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, and noted the necessity of strengthening cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
While noting the importance of continuing the peace process in Afghanistan, the parties highlighted the necessity of assistance to this country by the international community.
Following the political consultations, the parties expressed the readiness and mutual interest in the further development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries in all spheres.
