DUSHANBE, 19.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.
The talks focused on the state and prospects of Tajik-Russian relations in the political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, military and military-technical and other areas, as well as the cooperation of the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
The officials had a thorough exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda with an emphasis on regional security issues.
They also paid special attention to the preparation of the official visit of the Russian President to Tajikistan 1a scheduled in the second half of September.
An agreement was reached to establish an operational link between the foreign ministries of Tajikistan and Russia to take timely measures to provide meaningful content for the upcoming visit.
Following the talks, a Ministerial Cooperation Program for 2021 was signed.
