Tajikistan and Pakistan Hold Ministerial Political Consultations

DUSHANBE, 26.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajikistan and Pakistan held the fifth round of ministerial political consultations via videoconference.
The Tajik delegation was headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khusrav Noziri, while the Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood.
The consultations focused on a wide range of issues of Tajik-Pakistani bilateral relations in the political area, parliamentary cooperation, legal framework, trade and economy, security and defense cooperation, education and cultural cooperation.
The parties also exchanged views on the interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations, such as UN, ECO, OIC and SCO, as well regional security, counter-terrorism and drug trafficking.
While expressing satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries, the parties confirmed their readiness to further develop Tajik-Pakistani bilateral relations in all spheres.
