President Emomali Rahmon Receives the Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar

DUSHANBE, 01.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Hulusi Akar.
Further expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey in various areas being of mutual interest, including collaboration between the defense ministries of the two countries were the subjects of the discussion.
At the outset, President Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the current level and content of relations with Turkey, which is based on the principles of brotherhood, mutual understanding and respect.
During the discussion of issues on ensuring regional security, the parties noted the necessity of establishing cooperation in addressing modern challenges and threats.
Due to the aggravation of the situation the activation of extremist and terrorist groups in different regions of the world, Emomali Rahmon and Akar emphasized the need to join efforts of the international community in the fight against them.
They also exchanged views on the latest development in Afghanistan.
They also looked forward to continuing Tajikistan-Turkey fruitful collaboration within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the UN, the OIC, the ECO and other.
The two sides had a candid, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on other issues being of mutual interest.
