DUSHANBE, 12.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The discussion focused on bilateral cooperation in trade and economy between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan that has been developing positively in recent years. Special attention was paid to the current situation in Afghanistan.

In this regard, President Rahmon briefed President Aliyev on the current alarming situation in the regions bordering Tajikistan and Afghanistan, and expressed deep concern over the escalation of the situation on the southern borders of CIS member nations.

President Rahmon invited his counterpart to pay an official visit to Tajikistan at a convenient time. The exact date of the visit will be agreed upon later through diplomatic channels .
