Dushanbe Will Host an International Conference on SCO’s 20th Anniversary

DUSHANBE, 19.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) «SCO’s Twenty Years: From a Regional Forum to Global Recognition» will be held tomorrow in Dushanbe via videoconference.
The conference is organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan.
The event is planned within Tajikistan’s presidency in the SCO.
It will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the SCO Secretariat, the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, the CIS Executive Committee, former SCO Secretary General, as well as heads and leading experts of key centers, scientific and analytical institutions of the SCO member states, observers, and dialogue partners.
Attendees will discuss such achievements and prospects for development of cooperation, SCO’s role in deepening relations of good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation in the region, as well as SCO and prospects for regional security.
Additionally, the participants will discuss strengthening cooperation between SCO members in trade, financial and investment spheres, expanding cooperation in the transport, energy, and agricultural spheres in the SCO space, and developing cooperation in education, culture and science within the SCO.
