DUSHANBE, 08.09.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations on the 30th anniversary of state independence of Tajikistan and wished President Rahmon happiness, health, unique achievements, and to the people of Tajikistan he wished peace, well-being, and prosperity.
A detailed exchange of opinions focused on issues related to bilateral cooperation and the implementation of agreements reached following summit talks during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan. The two sides stressed their commitment to further develop friendly relations, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries.
In light of the escalation of tensions in Afghanistan, which threatens the security and stability of the region, it was agreed to continue dialogue on Afghan issues within the framework of the upcoming meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State and the SCO + CSTO summit meetings in Dushanbe.
Other topical issues concerning international and regional agenda were also touched upon.
