The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, who is in Dushanbe to take part in the session of the SCO Council of Heads of State.During the meeting the officials had an in-depth discussion on the bilateral agenda within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership and within regional and international organizations..They expressed satisfaction over the high level of cooperation between the two countries, focusing on the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and security spheres, and discussed ways to further develop ties in trade, industry, energy, agriculture, transport and attraction of Chinese investment into Tajikistan’s economy.The officials also expressed their concern over the current military and political situations in the neighboring Afghanistan.President Rahmom noted that Tajikistan, with its long border, common language, and common history with Afghanistan, cannot be indifferent to the fate of this country, and that Tajikistan is committed to the establishment of lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
