Tajikistan, Italy to Enhance Trade, Security Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 06.09.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 4, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi di Maio.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the main topics of the bilateral agenda and discussed upcoming political contacts. Special attention was paid to the development of interaction with Italy in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian and security spheres.
The interlocutors noted the constructive interaction of Tajikistan and Italy within the framework of international organizations on the main issues of the global agenda.
The parties also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the region and underlined common approach in the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, transnational crime and other security threats.
The ministers of foreign affairs expressed their readiness to continue contacts and consultations of the parties at all levels on topical issues of Tajik-Italian and regional cooperation.
