President Emomali Rahmon Made Working Trip to Farkhor District

DUSHANBE, 02.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Farkhor of Khatlon Province in order to get acquainted with the living conditions of the population and the opening of various socio-economic facilities.
His visit began with the opening ceremonies of the three stories secondary educational institution named after Sadriddin Ayni, which accommodates 2,000 students, and the new non-state Educational Institution Medical College that accommodates 440 students in two shifts built by domestic entrepreneur Nasim Dodiev.
The unveiling ceremony of the National Flag Square with a 33-meter flagpole, a secondary educational institution No: 4 which accommodates1,240 students in two shifts built by the Saudi Fund for Development, with the sewing workshop that provides150 locals with jobs, followed the list.
He also met with 43 orphans of Farkhor and Shamsiddin Shohin and provided them with material and cash assistance packages and congratulated them on the 30th anniversary of state independence and wished them good health, happiness and good education.
Next, he attended the opening ceremony of a new building of the Directorate of the State Committee for National Security in Farkhor, as well as the state-of-the-art Orien Regional Hospital and Maternity Department. Another opening ceremony was for the Palace of Culture with a 400-seat capacity.
In his meeting with local representatives, President Rahmon noted that since gaining independence the government has channeled more than 1.4 billion somoni from funding sources toward Farkhor’s socio-economic development.
Since gaining independence, 24 public investment projects worth more than 320 million somoni have been implemented. Now nine other projects for a total of 110 million somoni are underway.
At the same time, within the programs for Farkhor’s socio-economic development, 120 projects costing a total of more than 250 million somoni have been fully implemented between 2016-2020. Another socio-economic development program for 2021-2025 provides for the implementation of 198 projects worth more than 570 million somoni.
Local entrepreneurs of Farkhor have built 470 facilities in anticipation of the 30th anniversary of state independence within the framework of which more people have been provided with jobs.
Farkhor district is one of the largest agrarian regions of the country, and agriculture plays an important role in the development of the district’s economy and ensuring the well-being of its residents.
In 2020, the volume of industrial production in the district amounted to 170 million somoni, which is 3.6 times more than in 2000.
Since gaining independence, 39 new buildings of educational institutions for 18,000 students have been built and put into operation in Farkhor.
