Guimet Museum in Paris Hosts Day of Archeologic Studies of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 13.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 11, the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts in Paris in collaboration with the French Association of Friends of the East hosted the Day of Archeologic Studies of Tajikistan.
The event was attended by representatives of the Guimet Museum, scientific and educational circles, archaeologists, researchers and civil society of France, as well as activists of the Tajik diaspora living in Paris, and officials of the Embassy of Tajikistan in France.
Ambassador of Tajikistan to France Jamoliddin Ubaidullo expressed his satisfaction with the important achievements of Tajik-French cooperation in the field of archeology over the past 40 years, in particular citing a clear example of holding the exhibition of historical items of Tajikistan at Guimet Museum from October 13, 2021 through January 10, 2022.
Interesting and informative reports and presentations of French and foreign archaeologists and historians, including Henri-Paul Francfort, Frédéric Brunet, Francis Richard, Valerie Zaleski, Harry Falk, and Etienne De La Vaissière were delivered on the history of archaeological cooperation between Tajikistan and France, especially the results of archaeological excavations, scientific data and explanations about historical places and monuments of the Tajik state from ancient times to the Middle Ages, including the ancient settlement of Sarazm.
