Tajikistan Establishes Diplomatic Relations with 180 Countries

DUSHANBE, 22.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan has established diplomatic relations with 180 countries and is a full and proactive member of the UN, SCO, CSTO, OSCE, OIC, and other reputable global and regional institutions. This was stated yesterday by President Emomali Rahmon when he addressed the Supreme Assembly.
“The real essence of the open doors policy that we apply in our foreign relations is to establish and maintain friendly relations, good neighborliness, mutually beneficial partnership and cooperation with other countries, international and regional organizations, as well as international financial institutions,” he said.
He added that relations and cooperation with Tajikistan’s closest neighbors in Central Asia, as well as within the Commonwealth of Independent States, which occupies a special place in the system of interstate relations of Tajikistan, will be expanded in all directions.
In addition, President Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajikistan’s foreign policy will be based on the further development of relations with strategic partners Russia, China and organizations such as the EU, US, countries in Asia, the Middle East and other states.
