DUSHANBE, 23.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended a gala event commemorating the 29th anniversary of the founding of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.

Congratulating soldiers and officers, paratroopers, border guards, members of the law enforcement agencies, veterans of military services, he shared his thoughts regarding the formation of the Armed Forces in extremely difficult economic, military, and political conditions, and how they passed through difficult trials and turned into a powerful force to protect the state and people of Tajikistan.

President Rahmon stressed that during the difficult years of imposed civil war the Armed Forces have faithfully fulfilled their duty before the people and the homeland and made a truly historic contribution to the restoration of the constitutional order, stabilization of the situation through elimination of extremist and terrorist groups, and other criminal elements. They were able to ensure the rule of law and peace and stability in the country.

President Rahmon emphasized that the government and the people of Tajikistan will never forget the men who sacrificed their lives to defend the Motherland.

“Today we can proudly say that the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces have passed many hardships and tests, honorably fulfilled their service and professional mission, and the National Army, which we established 29 years ago, has now become a truly reliable, orderly and modern structure of the independent state of Tajikistan,” noted President Rahmon.

He also added that since gaining independence, the government has been providing all the material and spiritual conditions for their service and life.

During his speech he instructed the Command of the Armed Forces to give priority to the issues of training young officers and raising their professional scale in the spirit of patriotism.

In conclusion, he expressed his confidence that the servicemen of the Armed Forces will continue to fulfill their honorable and sacred duty — to protect our beloved homeland, the peaceful life of the people of Tajikistan, with a high spirit of patriotism, loyalty to the state, homeland and people.
