Dushanbe Hosts Briefing on the Results of Socio-Economic Development and Investment Opportunities in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 04.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Dushanbe hosted a briefing of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the results of the country’s economic development in 2021, as well as on investment opportunities in Tajikistan, which was attended by heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, international financial institutions, and the media.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sharaf Sheralizoda summed up the socio-economic informed the participants about the international cooperation in the field of trade, transport, tourism, sustainable development, measures taken by the government to expand it, mentioned investment opportunities, the country’s initiatives on water issues, and sectoral changes, including new tax incentives, and underlined the country’s tasks in priority areas of foreign economic cooperation for the future.
The representatives of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management, and the Tax Committee, according to the agenda of the briefing, have informed about industry achievements and their main indicators, the process of implementing state programs within the framework of the proclamation of 2022-2026 as the Years of Industrial Development, new edition of the Tax Code, as well as opportunities for cooperation with foreign investors and other topics.
Particular attention was paid to the presentation of the tourism sector taking into account the decision of the government on the introduction of a unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of 52 countries, which helps is aimed to attract more tourists.
Following the briefing, government representatives answered questions of the representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, international financial institutions, and the media.
