Tajikistan and Turkey Prepare to Hold Investment and Trade Forums

DUSHANBE, 19.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On April 18, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkey Ashrafjon Gulov met with the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarciklioglu in the building of TOBB University of Economics and Technology.
The meeting focused on the current state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, including trade turnover, the process of attracting Turkish direct investment to Tajikistan, initiatives of the Government of Tajikistan regarding the announcement of 2022-2026 as a Years of Industrial Development, introduction of a visa-free regime for Turkish citizens, and an increase in the number of flights between the cities of the two countries.
The parties agreed to organize training courses on the exchange of experience related to institutional development and the creation of a modern business infrastructure. Likewise, they proposed to enhance the capacity of Tajik associations and chambers of commerce.
Also this year, with the assistance of the parties, investment and trade forums will be organized to develop cooperation between the private sector of the two countries.
