Permanent Representative of Tajikistan Meets UN Under-Secretary-General

DUSHANBE, 10.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Tajikistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Jonibek Hikmat met with the Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States Fatima Rabbab.
The parties discussed Tajikistan’s main priorities and their mutual cooperation in the preparation for the UN 2023 Water Conference, the implementation of the Vienna Program of Action, and the preparation for the UN conference on landlocked developing countries in 2024 in Doha.
Hikmat informed Rabbab about President Emomali Rahmon’s next initiative to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Preservation, and invited the Office of the High Representative and the Landlocked Developing Countries to support Tajikistan in the promotion of this initiative.
