Registration Period for the Second Dushanbe Water Conference Extended to May 20

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – At the request of the official delegations of the UN member states, the deadline to register for the Second Dushanbe Water Conference has been extended until May 20, 2022. This was stated on May 4 at the second organizational meeting of the Organizational Committee, which took place under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharaf Sheralizoda and with the participation of the leadership of state agencies.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the results of the first meeting of the Organizational Committee of the Second Dushanbe Water Conference held on April 12, 2022 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Tajikistan X, as well as the process of preparing for the Second Dushanbe Conference, including the organization of exhibitions, pre-conference forums, marathon with the participation of the Australian runner Mina Guli, one of the most famous runners in the promotion of water issues, Dushanbe Water Festival, excursions, Virtual Reality exhibition on the theme “Tajikistan’s experience in the water sector,” and other events.
Currently, the Second Dushanbe Water Conference is being held within the framework of the fourth initiative on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028,» which is being considered as an important global event in the process of preparing the UN Water Conference 2023 (New York).
To date, more than 1,000 participants have registered on the conference’s website. At the request of the official delegations of the UN member states, the deadline for registration has been extended until May 20, 2022.
Registration of all participants, including official delegations of the Second Dushanbe Water Conference, is mandatory in accordance with organizational requirements and can be completed on the website www.dushanbewaterprocess.org/registration
