Pakistan welcomed the adoption of the Resolution entitled “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028” by the UN General Assembly
DUSHANBE, 11.01.2017. (NIAT Khovar). “Pakistan welcomed the adoption of the Resolution entitled “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028” by the UN General Assembly, initiated by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon” – it was stated by the Chairman of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, Professor Muhammad Ashraf at his meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sherali Jononov, on Tuesday January 10. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the MFA Information Department.
“During the meeting Professor Muhammad Ashraf has also noted that the initiative will contribute to the development of water diplomacy and serve as a solid basis for solving the issues of water resources management in the globalized world”, — says the message of the ministry.
It is reported that the parties have also expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation aimed at adoption of joint efforts for the implementation of the decade.
