Jeremy Weir, CEO of Trafigura Group: “We Will Contribute to the Development of Alternative Energy Sources in Tajikistan”

DUSHANBE, 23.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – “Tajikistan is extremely rich in natural resources, especially in the field of green energy, which lays a significant foundation for long-term cooperation. This was said in Dushanbe yesterday by the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Swiss company Trafigura Group Jeremy Weir following the meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to Weir, the meeting focused on issues of cooperation between Trafigura Group and Talco in the future, an important direction of which is the use of electricity in Tajikistan, as well as the development of the mining industry and other sectors.
“Trafigura Group intends to contribute to the development of alternative energy sources in Tajikistan. We also intend to submit a list of other important areas of cooperation to the government of Tajikistan, as well as relevant ministries and departments,” said Weir.
Trafigura Group is one of the largest companies in the world in the implementation of projects in the field of electricity, renewable energy sources, cargo transportation, logistics services, the metal and mineral processing sector, as well as product exports.
