DUSHANBE, 07.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On the sideline of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028,» President Emomali Rahmon received the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed.
President Rahmon expressed satisfaction UN’s level of cooperation and its support of Tajikistan’s global water and climate initiatives.
The implementation of the set goals will contribute to the solution to issues related to water resources and promotion of the sixth Sustainable Development Goal at various levels.
The parties also touched upon the bilateral and multilateral agenda, including the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development, implementation of the Medium-term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, Education Transformation Summit, World Social Summit, UN Summit of the Future 2023, and other joint events that will significantly contribute to the solution of important international issues.
They also noted the need to jointly respond to global threats and crises, such as growing inequality, poverty, hunger, armed conflicts, terrorism, extremism, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
