Tajik FM Will and CSTO Counterparts Discuss Mechanisms of Cooperation in Modern Conditions

DUSHANBE, 10.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin will take part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) which will be held today, June 10 in Yerevan.
The meetings will be held both in narrow and expanded formats, which will be followed by a press statement by the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
The meeting participants will sum up the results of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the CSTO and discuss the prospects for further cooperation. In addition, the ministers will touch upon the state of the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the member states of the organization, as well as issues of improving the CSTO crisis response mechanism.
It is expected that they will sign a plan of consultations between representatives of the CSTO member states on foreign defense and security policy for 2022-2024 following the meeting.
The CSTO is an international security organization whose members are six states, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The agreement on the creation of the organization on May 15, 1992 in Tashkent was signed by the heads of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (not a member of the CSTO since 2012).
