Sherali Kabir Attends Meeting of SCO and CIS Industry Ministers in Tashkent

DUSHANBE, 15.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, a Tajik delegation headed by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir takes part in the meeting of Ministers of Industry of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the VIII meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will be chaired by Uzbekistan.
The meetings will also be attended by the ministers of industry of India, Pakistan, deputies ministers of the relevant ministries of Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Belarus, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Ilhomjon Nematov, representatives of the business community of Russia and Kazakhstan.
The SCO ministers’ meeting will focus on issues of further intensifying and building up interaction within the framework of these multilateral organizations in the interests of industrial development, ensuring sustainable growth in industrial production on the basis of cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, introducing new technologies, attracting material and financial resources, increasing labor productivity and diversifying industrial products.
The approval of a number of important documents aimed at developing the industries of the SCO and CIS countries is expected. In particular, it is planned that the ministers of the SCO member states will approve the draft «Program for Stimulation of Industrial Cooperation between the Business Circles of the SCO Countries.» The program itself will be approved in mid-September at the Samarkand summit of the Organization.
Also, it is reported that a similar document will be approved at a meeting of industry ministers of the CIS member states.
The meeting participants will discuss the introduction of new technologies, attracting material and financial resources, as well as increasing labor productivity and diversifying industrial products.
