DUSHANBE, 01.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, received a Member of the State Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.

The meeting focused on bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China within the framework of regional and international organizations as a priority direction of the foreign policy of Tajikistan.

The parties assessed the efforts of the heads of state for the sustainable development of cooperation between the two countries as unprecedented.

In this context, they paid special attention to the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations.

The parties also expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between countries within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other international and regional organizations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian sectors, discussed ways to further develop and expand ties in the areas of trade, industry, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism, education, attracting advanced investment and technology from China to the economy of Tajikistan.

The meeting also focused on topical issues of infrastructure development and improvement of the country’s capital.

An exchange of views took also place on the difficult political and military situation in neighboring Afghanistan and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of security.
