Somon Air Expands Its Fleet With Two More Aircraft

DUSHANBE, 30.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Somon Air received the first of two Boeing 737-800 aircrafts with a cabin configuration of 189 economy class passenger seats.
The plane is painted in the well-known Somon Air livery and named after the Hero of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzoda.
In early upcoming month of September, the second Boeing 737-800 is expected to arrive. Both aircrafts will be received on operating lease from one of the largest US based leasing companies — Aviation Capital Group (ACG). By then, Somon Air will operate a fleet of two Boeing 737-900 and four Boeing 737-800.

The new aircrafts will help Somon Air with the developing of its route network and increase the number of frequencies and destinations for the convenience of our passengers. Aviation Capital Group was founded in 1989 and is one of the world’s premier full-service aircraft asset managers with approximately 475 owned, managed and committed aircraft as of June 30, 2022, which are leased to approximately 85 airlines in approximately 45 countries. ACG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation.
Since 2008, Somon Air has successfully operated in the international market, as a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and prioritises flight safety.
The Somon Air fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircrafts, which operate regularly from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkiye, India, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Currently, Somon Air is working on resuming flights to China and on opening regular flights to Saudi Arabia. The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet.
