Over 138,000 Tourists Visit Historical And Cultural Sites of the Sughd Region in 2022

DUSHANBE, 01.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2022, more than 138,000 tourists visited the historical and cultural sites of the Sughd region.
During this period, 15 recreation and cultural facilities, 16 tourism and hotel facilities, 215 trade and service centers were put into operation in the cities and districts of the region.
The activity of 43 travel agencies and 2 public organizations, including the Tourism Development Council and the Zarafshan Tourism Development Association, has been established in the region, 205 tourist routes have been organized, covering all historical and cultural sites.
In cities and districts of the region, 95 tourist service facilities, including 64 hotels, 31 resorts and boarding houses with a total capacity of more than 7,000 beds, serve citizens, domestic and foreign tourists.
In order to ensure the development of the tourism sector, a worthy representation of the country’s tourism opportunities and national culture in the international arena, attract investment in tourism infrastructure several benefits were provided to the tourism industry, which will give a serious impetus to the development of the industry.
