DUSHANBE, 30.03.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, inaugurated the Historical Museum building of the city of Istiklol.

The building of the museum was modernized by patriotic businessmen with the support of the executive body of state authority of Sughd Province as part of the implementation of construction and improvement measures dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The building of the museum is 1-storey, and there are 3 halls for storing historical artifacts and handicrafts, which tell about different historical periods of the city of Istiklol.

According to historians, the oldest artifact kept in this museum dates back to more than 500 years.

The facility has a large hall with an area of 256 square meters, a treasury and a hall.

In the exhibition hall of the museum there is a place for storing specimens, working rooms, examination room and other service facilities.

Pictures and images in this museum testify to the past of the ancient history of the city of Istiklol and play an important role in the presentation of its monuments.

It is worth mentioning that in the city of Istiklol historical monuments were found as a result of archeological excavations of scientists and are preserved in the museum.

It should be noted that within the cultural and history-promoting policy of the great Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, during the years of independence, many cultural facilities with a modern design were built in the cities and districts of the country, including the Sughd Province, and historical monuments were also renovated, which are visited by domestic and foreign tourists every year.
