Tajikistan’s Football Team Will Take Part in the First Ever CAFA Championship in June

DUSHANBE, 14.03.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The first championship in the history of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) with the participation of men’s national teams will be held from June 9 through June 21 this year.
All 6 member associations of the Central Asian Football Association, including Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan gave their confirmation for participation in the CAFA-2023 championship among national teams.
Russian national team, which has confirmed its participation in it, will also take part in the championship.
Also, the Central Asian Football Association invited one of the Asian teams to participate in the new championship.
According to the plans of the organizers, following the results of the draw, 8 teams will be divided into two groups of 4 teams each, the matches will be held in a round robin system in one round. Then the winners of the groups will meet in the final. Teams that take second place in their groups will compete for third place.
For Tajikistan participation in the 2023 CAFA championship will be one of the stages of preparation for the 2023 Asian Cup, which will be held from January 12 through February 10, 2024 in Qatar.
