DUSHANBE, 26.04.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Public Relations Center of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan informs that on the morning of April 26 of this year, 2 members of international terrorist organizations, in order to commit a terrorist act within the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, crossed the state border line between Tajikistan and Afghanistan in the protection zone of the 11th border checkpoint. The «Darvoz» border detachment, located in the village of Dashti Yazgulom of the Vanj district, illegally crossed the border .
According to the Public Relations Center of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, as a result of a joint anti-terrorist operation by law enforcement agencies of the republic, the terrorists were neutralized. At the scene, 2 Kalashnikov assault rifles, 2 foreign-made pistols, 8 hand grenades, 12 magazines with cartridges, 19 packages of explosives, 2 special communications equipment and 2 mobile phones belonging to terrorists were found and seized.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact, operational-search and investigative measures are being carried out in order to fully identify the terrorists and other accomplices in the crime.
During the anti-terrorist operation, law enforcement officers and civilians were not injured.
