Dushanbe Hosts Business Forum of Tajikistan and Malaysia

DUSHANBE, 06.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan intends to strengthen cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship and attraction of investments with Malaysia. In this regard, the Business Forum of Tajikistan and Malaysia was held yesterday in Dushanbe with the participation of business and investment circles of both states.
One of the main goals of the forum is to present the investment opportunities of Tajikistan to entrepreneurs and investors in Malaysia, to strengthen ties between the business and investment circles, to build and create joint production and industrial enterprises. Business and investment circles of Tajikistan and Malaysia discussed priority areas of cooperation in the fields of industry, information and communication technologies, tourism, medicine and services.
The Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management Sadi Kodirzoda expressed his opinion on the opportunities and space for entrepreneurship and investment in Tajikistan, as well as noted that the development of entrepreneurship and the improvement of the investment climate.
It was emphasized that at present, in accordance with the current legislation, almost 100 benefits and concessions have been established for entrepreneurs, more than 80 percent of which are tax and customs benefits.
Also, the Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, Ms. Christina Tee, expressed her country’s interest in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors of the economy, including entrepreneurship and investment with Tajikistan.
She expressed the readiness of Malaysian business and investment circles to establish and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
The forum participants, especially business circles of Malaysia, were presented with a presentation and discussed joint projects on investments in industry, food, healthcare and other sectors.
It should be noted that the priority areas of cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia will remain trade, economic and investment partnership, support and joint implementation of mutually beneficial projects, ensuring regular trade, free movement of goods, capital, services and technologies.
A bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs in the B2B format was also held, as a result of which new acts of cooperation in various fields were signed.
