DUSHANBE, 02.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) –   Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received at the Palace of the Nation the President of FIFA, Mr. Gianni Infantino and the President of the Asian Football Confederation, Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, who arrived on a working visit to the city of Dushanbe.

During the meeting, the state and prospects for cooperation between Tajikistan and these authoritative structures of world and regional football were discussed.

In particular, the sides discussed the position of football in Tajik society, the mass nature of this popular sport in our country, as well as the measures taken by the Government and the Football Federation of Tajikistan in order to further develop it.

Satisfaction was expressed with the level and content of cooperation of the Football Federation of Tajikistan with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

The parties focused on the issues of further improving the infrastructure base of football in Tajikistan, the prospects for the development of youth and women’s football in our country, as well as futsal.

The Leader of the Nation, thanking FIFA and AFC for the constant assistance and support in the development of Tajik football, expressed confidence that Tajikistan’s cooperation with these authoritative structures of world and regional football will continue to have a constructive continuation.

It should be noted that consistent measures are being taken in our country to create the most favorable conditions for the development and progress of football.

Over the years of state independence in Tajikistan, more than 7,400 sports grounds have been built and reconstructed in various regions of the country. Only in the city of Dushanbe over the past five years more than 300 sports grounds have been put into operation and at present there are 470 football fields in our capital.

Currently, the “Program for the Development of Football in the city of Dushanbe for 2022-2026”, as well as the “Special Program of the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan for the Development of Football in Rural Areas of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2024” are being implemented.
