DUSHANBE, 30.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon received the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries in areas of interest.

As the Head of our state emphasized, the Tajik side in its foreign policy attaches consistent importance to strengthening and expanding friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with Kuwait and considers this country as its important partner in the international arena.

The parties expressed their satisfaction with the process of development and expansion of interstate cooperation founded on the principles of trust and mutual understanding based on the established reliable legal framework.

In this context, the interest of the Tajik side in further expanding partnership with Kuwait in the political, socio-economic, humanitarian fields, in the field of security and other areas of mutual interest was emphasized.

The parties paid special attention to the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in matters of ensuring security and stability.

The Head of our state spoke in favor of a peaceful solution to security problems in the region and the world, noting the constructive role of Kuwait in this process.

During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on other topical issues of the modern world, including the situation in Afghanistan.

Further expansion of effective cooperation between the two countries within the framework of authoritative international and regional organizations, primarily the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, was recognized as expedient.

The Leader of the Nation spoke in favor of continuing the political dialogue at the highest and high levels as an effective means of achieving the set goals.
